The need for clean indoor air has never been greater than in the past year, as more people are staying indoors due to COVID-19. In today’s post, local AC contractor The Ice-Man shares a look at the Carrier Infinity® Air Purifier, a whole-home air purifier that can inactivate up to 99% of select airborne pathogens, including coronavirus and bacteria.

How It Works
The Carrier Infinity Air Purifier is designed to work with Carrier heating and air conditioning systems. The Infinity Air Purifier features Capture & Kills® technology that cleans the air passing through your HVAC system’s air handler in three steps:
Charge — The Infinity Air Purifier generates a field of electrically-charged ions that attach themselves to dust, viruses and other particles in the air as they pass through.
Capture — The air filters in the Infinity air purifier have an opposite charge that pulls the charged particles into the pleated air filters. This means even particles as small as 0.1 microns, which would escape their standard counterparts, are trapped by the air filters.
Kill — Captured particles can still be harmful, which is why the Infinity Air Purifier subjects the remaining particles in the filter to an intense electric field, killing or inactivating up to 99%. The Infinity Air Purifier’s filtration efficiency is rated MERV 15, with 16 being the highest-possible rating given to heating and air conditioning air filters.
Is the Carrier Infinity Air Purifier Right for You?
Your home needs to be truly safe, not just because of COVID-19 and its variants, but also because of mold, bacteria and pet dander that circulate in most homes and cause various kinds of respiratory problems. While most air filtration systems are sufficient for typical households, you or a family member may have health conditions that make you more susceptible to allergies and respiratory illnesses. If this is the case, the Carrier Infinity Air Purifier may be just what your home needs.
